Room & Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress

Book Pairing

I know what you are thinking: “What in the world do these two books have in common?”  Yes, it is true that they both take place in completely different time periods and locations.  Their topics have absolutely nothing to do with each other—but if you did read both of them, you may have noticed that interestingly enough, both novels use Alexandre Dumas’ book The Count of Monte Cristo to help the main character at a turning point in their situation.  In this way, we see that although these two titles may be as different as apples and oranges, they still share a common “thread”.
