This smoothie seems interesting to try because it has fruit in it that is good for digestion, mixed with yogurt and a touch of cinnamon for taste. I got this recipe from the book Drink to Your Health by Anita Hirsch.
You will need:
-5 dried prunes, pitted
-1/4 cup raisins
-3/4 cup boiling or hot water
-1/4 cup plain nonfat yougurt
-1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
Soak prunes and raisins in boiling water. After 20 minutes, place in a blender and purée. Add the yogurt, applesauce, and cinnamon and purée again. Serve.
This makes one serving, which is about 1 and 1/2 cups. According to the author, not only is this smoothie high in fiber but in antioxidants too, which is terrific for fighting all kinds of things. Here’s to your health!
