Wonderful Cup of Chamomile Tea

Tis’ the season when everyone starts exhibiting flu or cold symptoms.  I thought this homemade concoction taken from Heinerman’s Encyclopedia of Juices, Teas & Tonics would be useful and quick.  No one likes to make a fuss with beverages or food when they are feeling under the weather, so this recipe might just be what the doctor or your mother ordered!

Wonderful Cup of Chamomile Tea

You will need:
-1 pint boiling water
-2 and 1/2 tsps. dried cut chamomile flowers
-tiny dash pure vanilla flavoring

Put the herbal flowers in the boiling water; cover with lid, set aside, and let steep for 10 minutes.  Uncover and add the vanilla.  Then re-cover and steep some more for an additional 10 minutes.  Strain and drink warm.  The dash of vanilla really gives it an unbeatable flavor.

Hopefully this will put you back on your feet in no time!  I’m sure it is just as enjoyable to drink when you are in the mood for a soothing and tasty tea any time during the day.
